Who we are, what we stand for — and why we believe that the voices of young Roma in Europe must finally be heard.

Dobar Dan!

Roma youth, leading the way

Serbia is home to one of Europe’s largest Roma communities, with a population between 250,000 and 600,000. Despite this, young Roma frequently face barriers to education, housing, and public life. Our mission is to bridge this gap and create the necessary space for their voices to be heard and acted upon.

What we do

Our services

Since 2007, the Centre for Youth Integration has been dedicated to building an inclusive society by ensuring equal opportunities for children and young people. Supported by a team of 43 staff members, we provide individualized, child-centered support to more than 4,000 children and families annually. Through a combination of direct support services, system advocacy, and research, CYI drives lasting, evidence-based change.

Drop-in Centres

We provide a safe environment where Roma children and children from other vulnerable groups receive daily care and have their basic needs met.

Education Program

We facilitate access to formal school system, providing the support children need to learn, grow and reach their full potential.

Philanthropy & Sustainability

We develop sustainable fundraising initiatives to ensure the long-term impact and continuity of our programs.

Refugee & Migrant Support

We offer specialized protection and humanitarian aid to refugee and migrant children in Serbia, helping them navigate difficult transitions.

Regional Resource Centre

We foster regional cooperation, sharing innovative practices and knowledge to improve child protection standards across Southeast Europe.

Social Enterprise

We operate a social enterprise that provides direct support, vocational opportunities and a path toward independence for young people.

Team

The persons behind

A team of educators, activists, and Roma representatives — across six countries. We work participatively: many of our colleagues are part of the Roma community themselves.
